Kent Hugo Moussault
Kent Moussault (1993) conducted the T.O.P. Orchestra in their May 2017 project with 4 soloists in the Volkshuis in Leiden.Kent studied composition at the conservatory of Amsterdam with Willem Jeths, Joël Bons and Wim Henderickx. He currently studies conducting at the conservatory of The Hague with Jac van Steen and Kenneth Montgomery.
As a condunctor he won the first prize at the Young Conductors Awards 2016 for which he conducted orchestras such as the K. M. K. Johan Friso, Camerata Particolare and the Metropoolorkest. He assisted Jac van Steen with the Ulster Orchestra (Belfast), the New Japan Philharmonic (Tokyo) and Het Symfonieorkest (Orkest van het Oosten). Moroever, he led orchestras such as the Hamburger Symphoniker and the Savaria Symphony Orchestra in Hungary. Kent conducted many works by temporary composers and led several world premieres.
Kent is the conductor of the Vechtstreek Symfonie Orkest and is one of the conductors of the Catchpenny Ensemble, a modern music ensemble.
In 2016, Kent received a stipendium for a study trip to Bayreuth (with thanks to the Dutch Wagner Society).
He also received financial support by the Kersjesfonds for his activities and study.
